For the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2026 collection, Co-Creative Directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia celebrate the revitalizing energy of spring through texture and movement. The porcelain flower, reminiscent of those from Kim’s family garden, comes to life through crochet, cross-stitching on rattan lace, and hand-painted leather enamel clusters. Sinuous vines adorned with these flowers climb a variety of silhouettes, from fluid silk chiffon caftans to lace guipure dresses and a softly structured cocoon coat. A cyclamen print inspired by the chiné weaving technique adds textural movement to a thread-work embroidered denim dress, printed satin pajamas, and an ombré jacquard jacket. When Vogue Was Painted: The Magic of Illustrated Covers

Long before fashion became a digital swirl of pixels and high-gloss photography, Vogue covers were painted — not shot. These early covers were hand-drawn artworks that captured more than just clothes. They told stories. They reflected eras. They evoked emotion with a stroke of ink or a splash of watercolor. From the magazine’s earliest issues in the early 1900s through the 1930s, Vogue was graced with illustrated covers that felt like windows into a dream. Fashion illustration wasn’t just decoration — it was fine art, blending elegance with imagination.

For his sophomore show as a guest member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, Francesco Scognamiglio diffused the flavor and finery from his native Naples through gilded Parisian salons built for Roland Bonaparte, grandnephew of Napoléon. The handmade porcelain roses dotting the leather miniskirts that opened the lineup and staggered across the powder pink satin wedding gown that closed it could be traced back to the Capodimonte museum which houses the 18th century boudoir of Queen Maria Amalia of Saxony. If, as he noted, these breakable buds “represent a woman’s inner fragility,” the message from his 20 Spring looks was rock ’n’ royal. Baroque tracery on a slinky silver slip dress, oversize stud embellishments, and latex stockings were among the signs that Scognamiglio hasn’t tempered his extroverted taste to fit in among the established French houses. Even so, he can cut a sheer and shimmery gown that stands up against any other—not least because his secret is a barely there...
