Zimmermann brought sunshine to a gray, wet Paris, presenting the "Hypnotic" collection under the blue skies of the Petit Palais. The show transported viewers to warmer and more ethereal climes, where an atmosphere of refined femininity and dreaminess reigned.
The Fall 2025 collection, inspired by Peter Weir’s cult Australian film Picnic at Hanging Rock, opened with a soundtrack of girls giggling, setting the tone for the entire collection. Designer Nicky Zimmermann confessed that she wanted to create a personal interpretation of the escapism and femininity inherent in the film, while avoiding a literal historical reconstruction of costumes.

Fall 25 draws inspiration from the Australian classic film Picnic at Hanging Rock which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. This collection brings a modern spirit to its haunting mystery and ethereal beauty. Through texture, silhouette and artful details, we’ve created pieces that evoke the feeling of a dream within a dream. Rather than create a homage to the film’s costumes, we’ve taken some of the key storytelling elements, such as lace, dramatic silhouettes, the colours of Australian nature, Valentine’s letters, maps of Mt Macedon, the pinafores of school uniforms and some tougher elements like riding wear and suiting.” - Nicky Zimmermann, Creative Director.
On the runway, flowing handkerchief hem dresses were showcased, adorned with hand-drawn maps of the film's namesake location and valentines woven into lace, reminiscent of those exchanged by the characters.

Victorian lace bibs and schoolgirl pinafores were reimagined as elegant tops. A dusty rose and milk chocolate striped silk shirt made an appearance, printed with a school crest.
Garments inspired by the backlit dreamscapes of the film's opening transitioned into looks that referenced the mysterious Australian bush, featuring mossy underbrush-colored lace and flowing chiffon with snake prints.
Denim, a key element for the brand, was presented in unexpected interpretations with ribcage cut-outs and sinuous ruffles on high-necked dresses. Sheer dresses were styled with high-necked lace bodysuits, creating a modern and sensual aesthetic.

In the "Hypnotic" collection, Zimmermann remained true to its commitment to dressing women in ways that make them look and feel beautiful. The runway featured both airy lace dresses and sculpted ochre velvet bodices paired with Grecian draped jersey skirts, a reimagining of a spring bestseller.
The Zimmermann Fall 2025 collection exudes femininity, romance, and a subtle sense of mystery. It is clothing created for those who appreciate beauty, sophistication, and seek escapism through their style. #RFBSTYLE
