Harris Reed FALL 2024 READY-TO-WEAR

Harris Reed makes magic with Victoriana and embroidered wallpaper. The young British-American fashion designer kicked off London Fashion Week with a magnificent demi-couture collection that was inspired by Fromental's archive silk wallpapers and the 19th-century shadow puppets.

In a world where fashion oscillates between transient trends and timeless elegance, Harris Reed’s Fall Winter 2024-2025 collection “Shadow Dance” emerges as a breathtaking ode to the latter. “Shadow Dance,” as the name suggests, is a delicate interplay of form, fabric, and embellishment that narrates a tale of contrasts—between light and dark, movement and stillness, tradition and innovation.

The collection serves as a canvas where Reed’s vision of fashion as a form of fluid demi-couture comes to life, blending the boundaries between ready-to-wear and haute couture.

Each piece in the collection, from long gowns to elegant pantsuits, is sculpted with an attention to detail that mirrors the intricacy and beauty of design objects destined for infinity.

The collection’s highlights include Renaissance-inspired gowns that mimic the graceful contours of vases, embodying a sculptural permanence. A standout piece is the long black gown adorned with a meticulously painted rose—a symbol of timeless beauty and complexity. The short dark blue garment, featuring an enormous embroidered collar, showcases Reed’s flair for dramatic silhouettes and bold statements.
