Alice + Olivia SPRING 2024 READY-TO-WEAR

The answer lies within the storied walls of 48 Wall Street. For the presentation, surrealist settings are illustrated based on what a modern swan would wear today. Ballroom black and white skirts sway alongside structured jackets embellished with enlarged bows. A red silk dress with a plunging neckline adds a hint of sexiness to traditionally elegant silhouettes, while jacquard and bouclé jackets take shape as breathtaking gowns. A white bustier feather dress playfully nods to Princess Odette’s costume worn in Swan Lake while a crisp white ballroom dress embodies the timeless, ladylike appeal that was born from the ‘60s. In the garden room, one may feel a hint of Slim Aarons’ Palm Beach photography at play. Painted florals bring cocktail dresses and skirts alive with guests morphing into flowers, donning tops shaped into red gardenia atop white crisp pants, while others channel their inner-grand dame in a floral cape.

Emerging from the floral scenescape, a glamour-fueled party setting depicts what a modern-day swan would wear as revenge dressing takes center stage. For those who are keen on making a statement, an embellished fringe top boasts a dazzling display of crystal and pearls. Denim jackets with bow-adorned sleeves maintain the ladylike sensibility. Wispy lingerie-esque black slip dresses with boned busts and godets of lace offer a sense of liberation, merging modernity with a hint of sexiness together.

Elegance is not about being noticed, it’s about being remembered.
